Four decisions, confirmed 24 Sep

These replace everything the old comparison page was still asking about. Staff should read this section before the timeline below — it explains the "why," not just the "when."

1 — MC role

Guided assist, not a narrator

The night is unscripted enough that things can drift off plan — MC's job is to discreetly keep the narrative on track if that happens. MC is the only staff member who talks directly with Sally and VVIP Bonaldo during the ceremony core — a guided assist, never a visible host. Fah is on standby to assist or answer only if asked, or for anything urgent — otherwise this stays MC's job alone.

Sally opening the curtain herself, and Sally leading the Q&A directly with Bonaldo, are both confirmed correct exactly as scripted — no MC narration at either beat.

2 — DJ & music

A real DJ role, on site from 17:00

A DJ is live on site throughout, from 17:00. Lounge / jazz plays as the room fills and through mingling. From the moment the ceremony core begins until it ends, the DJ does a hard stop to full silence — not a fade or tone-down. Once dinner starts, music comes back and ramps up progressively through dinner and after, building the room's energy toward the end of the night, then tones back down for the close.

DJ is added as its own name on the Station Assignment Board — this is a real, named role, not shorthand for "whoever's on sound."

3 — Pacing

This is a live-conducted night, not a stopwatch

Some beats will run longer than others — that's scope, not a mistake, and every station needs to know it going in. The Khun In / reveal window is the clearest example: staff should understand the narrative and the purpose behind each beat, not just the printed time, and read the room like a live conductor rather than chasing the clock.

4 — Wording

It's a plate

Confirmed: the object Sally carries to Bonaldo at 19:13 is a plate, not a plaque. Every reference below and in staff materials should read "plate."

What changed from the old draft

  1. MC is real, but redefined. Not a visible emcee — a discreet narrative-control role and the sole staff conduit to Sally/VVIP during the ceremony core.
  2. DJ is real, from 17:00. Lounge/jazz throughout arrival, mingle, and dinner, with a hard silence (not a fade) through the ceremony core — added to the Station Assignment Board's name list.
  3. Pacing is scope, not a fixed clock. The Khun In window and its neighbors may run long or short by design — staff need the narrative reasoning, not just the timestamp.
  4. It's a plate, confirmed. Drop "plaque" everywhere.
  5. The rehearsal block (15:00–17:30) is now part of the single reference — it used to only exist on the old comparison page.

Press release — FYI logged

Per Andy: the press release is approved by Italy (Bonaldo) and by Sally. The one outstanding editorial item — Sally's and Alberto's quotes flagged as drafts needing real sign-off — is now cleared in BONALDO_90_PRESS_RELEASE_DRAFT.md. Only the placeholder media-contact and press-kit-link details remain before distribution.

Superseded materials (XLSX draft, Master Playbook v4, and the 23–24 Sep three-way comparison) are kept for staff-study/audit purposes only in the project archive — this page is the one to work from going forward.
