The Legacy of Motion

Full team briefing — every station, every line, floor cues, and the chair moment
Thu 1 Oct 2026 Curtain 19:00 Hard stop 21:00 Rev. v4

Full Staff Briefing — Every Station, Every Line, 17:45 to Hard Stop

This is the whole night, continuously, for briefing the floor team. No cross-references — read top to bottom and you know your job.

IRON-CLAD, NO EXCEPTIONS, EVERYONE ON THIS PAGE: no price, no pitch, no soliciting contact of any kind — not even an appointment. If a guest asks directly, the only response is: “That's not a conversation for tonight — tonight is just for looking and being here.” Then the subject changes. This is art, curated and premeditated as an experience — never staged as a sale.
17:45

ALL STAFF READY

Nothing below runs until every station confirms “yes” to the Stage Manager (Ploy): valet in position at the street entrance; reception's iPad check-in live and tested, briefed on the two named VIPs (Alberto Bonaldo, Leonardo Grillo) — the remaining four VIP seats are placed directly by the MC on arrival, not pre-briefed by name; floor/F&B trays and T1–T8 set, six settings ready at the Palazzo table; kitchen counter set with six sponge cups, bases pre-frozen; sound desk loaded with all three playlists and tested; chair spot on and steady at LM1(B) — it stays exactly like this, unmoved, until 21:00; Khun In in the secret room with water, a fan, instrument tuned, and his silent vibration cue tested; the opera singer off-plan near the spiral staircase, briefed on her cue; the plaque with Sally, or the fallback card ready if it hasn't arrived from Padua.

All stations — Stage Manager (Ploy) confirms each one by name
—

Venue map, confirmed — how the room actually connects

Walked and confirmed against the architect's floor plan (Olivia Showroom Floor 2). Guest path, in order: valet at the street entrance → reception just inside the door → the two floor-projector points along the back wall (the ambient Thailand-scenery loop guests pass walking in) → the showroom display (Bonaldo pieces, clean white light, never touched by show lighting) → the restroom & lift lobby corridor → the round curtain and spiral staircase, where the reveal happens. Cocktail tables T1–T8 sit in two columns in the aisle between reception and the staircase, DJ booth nearest the staircase end. The pad thai truck is staged street-side, near the base of the staircase, visible through the glass once the room dims.

OL Atelier Floor 2 layout plan

Architect's layout plan (Olivia Showroom Floor 2) — reception at far left, Food & Drink counter and cocktail tables T1–T8 in the centre, DJ beside T6, the round Q&A/reveal area and spiral staircase at right. SALA and the Pad Thai wok work from just outside, off this plan's lower-right edge.

The one thing every station needs to know: the restroom & lift lobby corridor is also the only route between the secret room upstairs (Back Office / Meeting Room) and the staircase — it is the single continuous, guest-free path Khun In and the opera singer use all night. It never crosses reception, the projector wall, the showroom, or a single table. That is exactly why the mechanic works: nobody backstage is ever visible from the guest floor, and nobody on the guest floor has a reason to walk that corridor. Confirm this walk, and Khun In's exact walking time from the secret room to his position behind the curtain, at the 28 Sep run-through — see §7 for the cue itself.

All — Stage Manager (Ploy) walks this with the full team before 18:30
17:45–18:30

If a guest arrives early contingency

Doors are 18:30, but staff readiness at 17:45 means the room can absorb someone arriving early — 18:00 is common. If this happens: valet and one reception staff member receive them exactly as warmly as at 18:30, no hesitation, no “you're early.” They're seated at the arrival tables (T1–T8), the same Prosecco/cocktail/mocktail and passed snacks that will run at 18:30 are simply started a few minutes ahead for that table. Nothing backstage is exposed to the arrival zone — Khun In, the VIP seating at LM1(B), and the plaque are nowhere near where an early guest sits, so an early arrival changes nothing about the show. If sound (Playlist 1) isn't officially cued yet, the sound desk operator brings it in quietly at the same −20 dB the moment a guest is seated — never leave an early arrival in silence. No staff member explains the schedule, apologizes for “not being ready,” or rushes anything visibly. From the guest's side, they simply arrived and were looked after.

Valet, Reception, F&B — Stage Manager (Ploy) notified quietly, show timing unaffected
18:30

Doors, officially

Valet + Reception fully open, iPad check-in live for everyone. Sound in — Playlist 1 “Arrival,” −20 dB under conversation (70–95 BPM, warm and mostly instrumental — Italian library/soundtrack lounge, modern jazz-soul, downtempo). Guests mingle at T1–T8; ambient wall projection live; Prosecco/cocktail/mocktail and Andy's passed snacks run continuously. This is 28 minutes of ordinary, warm hosting — nothing announced, nothing telegraphed.

4.1 and 4.2 open together right at doors — Sally opens 4.1 by hand, another floor staff member opens 4.2 at the same moment. Both stay open through arrival and close together only once every guest is inside and seated — treat this exactly like a theater curtain: open for the entrance, closed for the performance, open again after the reveal for dinner and mingle (see 19:24).

Wall 2 — runs continuously, all night, from first arrival
Independent of everything else in the sequence — never cued, never paused, never swapped mid-event. Loop it from before 17:45 doors-adjacent early arrivals through 21:00.
Zone 3 — round curtain, ambient loop (placeholder for the “David” motif)
Plays on the round curtain surface itself for the whole cocktail hour, while Khun In waits hidden inside it — this is the placeholder loop; Andy is sending the final “David” version separately and it swaps in here when it arrives. Cuts the instant the silence beat hits at 19:28, ahead of the reveal.

Sound fades 60 seconds

Playlist 1 fades to nothing over 60 seconds. Nobody should notice the fade happening — only that it's suddenly quiet before the six are seated.

18:58

Six seated, sound off

Ushers quietly guide the six VIPs to LM1(B) and the sofa. Sally moves toward the curtain. Khun In stays in the secret room — do not move him yet. From this instant, sound is off, not low, off, until 19:33. No bed of music under anything that follows. Nobody touches a fader without the Stage Manager's (Ploy) explicit go.

Alberto specifically is seated in the Cross lounge chair, not the sofa — it's his seat for the rest of the night. Nobody treats it as anything but an ordinary chair yet; that changes at 19:11.

Threshold hard cut

Sally opens curtain C1 herself; staff opens C2 a beat behind her. Lighting cuts hard from dim to bright, clean white the instant her hand touches the curtain — no fade. Guests walk in.

Sally, staff
19:00

Sally's opening ~110 words

“Good evening. Thank you for coming into my house.”

“Leonardo — thank you. You made this evening possible from Padua. Alberto — welcome to Bangkok. Ninety years, and one night.”

“I'm not going to talk tonight. I asked three people to do it for me instead. You'll find out who, one at a time.”

“There's one rule. Nothing you see tonight can be shipped. It can only be witnessed.”

“Except one thing — before tonight's over, my team is going to hand you a small box. Wherever you're standing. That one's yours. Don't open it yet.”

She sits on the arm of the sofa. This leads straight into the questions — no hand-off line, no naming Andy yet.

Sally
19:02

The Five Questions 8 minutes, full script

Sally, seated with Alberto, asks each question in one breath, then stops talking. No follow-ups. Leonardo may translate live if Alberto answers in Italian — offered to Leonardo as his own moment. If any answer runs past 90 seconds, the Stage Manager (Ploy) raises a hand and Sally moves to the next question at the nearest pause.

1. “What's the one machine in your factory that's older than you are — and does it still work?”

2. “What does the factory smell like at seven in the morning, before anyone starts?”

3. “If your grandfather walked in tonight, what's the first thing he'd ask you?”

4. “You've sat in thousands of chairs that never had your name on them. Was there ever one you wanted to keep?”

5. “After ninety years — what is the one thing your grandfather would not recognise about Bonaldo today? And the one thing he would?”

Staff note — Q4 contingency
Q4 is open-ended — Alberto could name any Bonaldo piece, including a chair no longer in Bonaldo's current collection. There is no special rebound line to prepare: the segment's own rule already covers it — no follow-ups, ever, on any answer. Sally lets it sit and moves straight to the next question exactly as she would for any other answer. The only instruction for staff: nobody reacts, comments, laughs, or repeats the name back — whatever he names, treat it as a normal, closed answer and carry on.

Ends on the fifth answer, unresolved — no summarizing line from Sally. She says nothing, and the video simply starts.

Alain Gilles, on screen hard cut in

Script locked 22 Sep 2026. No live intro — starts the instant the fifth answer ends. Alain, to camera, signs off on a plaque he can't fit himself, notes that Cross is still one of the younger pieces in Bonaldo's ninety-year history, and reads the one sentence Sally asked him for: “Ninety years in motion. Tonight, at rest in Bangkok.” Ends with “Alberto — your hands, please.” Cut to black, two-second hold, no applause cued.

Video file not yet delivered
Script is locked — only the finished video file is still pending. Andy is bringing this cut separately — this is not the YouTube reference link (that one plays later, at the curtain screen right before Khun In). AV to chase and load before doors; never substitute the other clip here.

The chair slow & human, full script

The instant the video hits black, the chair spot pulses brighter for one second over Alberto — the only warning the room gets. He's been sitting in the Cross chair since 18:58, before the curtain even opened; nobody's treated it as anything but an ordinary chair until now.

Stands from the sofa arm, plaque already in hand, and crosses to the chair. Says nothing yet — the video just told the room everything it needs about Alain and the chair; Alberto, who lived it, needs none of it repeated to him.

“I wrote him one sentence. He signed it.”

Holds the plaque up — solid brass, hand-signed by Alain. It reads “Made in Italy. Understood in Bangkok” — designed by Alain Gilles, curated by Sairoong P. — and, in the corner, “No. I of IX · The Series of Years · 2016–2026 · The Synthesis.” Does not read it aloud. Alberto rises from his seat and comes to her — no verbal cue needed, Alain's video already asked for his hands. Sally hands him the plaque. He fits it himself, to the back of the chair — the room watches him do it, not her. Ten seconds. Photograph. Alberto sits back down. Steps back from the chair. Lets the room hold the silence for a beat — no summarizing line, no address, no “number one of nine” speech; that messaging lives in the press release, not in the room. Then, plainly, no jokes at Alberto's expense —

“Andy — please.”

Nobody sits in the chair itself tonight. Sally's cue is what starts the ice cream spin.

Fallback if the plaque hasn't arrived: identical staging, minus the fitting — Sally crosses already holding a card instead of the plaque. Holds it up, brief and clean: “It's on its way from Padua.” Straight into “Andy — please.” No apology, no explanation.

The spin 10 minutes, full narration

A few seconds of silence after Alberto steps back. No announcement — Andy is simply already spinning.

(first spin, no announcement)

“Sally gave me one instruction for tonight. She said: make something they can't take home. So there's no plate. There's no spoon. There's no menu. There is one bite, and it takes ninety seconds to exist.”

Plates cup 1, hands it to VIP 1, no words, eye contact.

“Bonaldo has made things by hand in Padua for ninety years. Tonight we make something by hand in Bangkok, and it lives for about as long as it takes you to eat it.”

(second spin)

“This is santol. A Thai fruit. It grows here, it's eaten here, and it has never really left. You can't ship it ripe. I baked it into the base of the cup — that's the caramel you'll taste first.”

(third spin)

“Just above the santol, one drop of fermented longan syrup. Ten days of fermenting, for one bite.”

(fourth spin)

“And on top — always on top, always last — pistachio. Italy's nut, spun into ice cream right in front of you, not in a factory. Milk, pistachio, cold, and pressure. Nothing added. Ice cream goes on last, every time — so it never melts before it reaches you, and it's how I keep every cup to ninety seconds.”

(fifth spin)

“One bite. One hand. Don't wait for anyone. In this house we serve the sweet thing first. The fire comes later — you'll see it through the glass.”

(sixth spin — the longest silence. Plate carefully. Walk to Alberto, still seated in the Cross chair.)

“Alberto. Ninety years of your family, in ninety seconds of ours. Welcome to Bangkok.”

Hands cup 6, seated. Steps back out of the light. Does not bow.

Andy and his assistant then decorate the remaining cups quietly and pass them to the room.

Staging note: the cup is fully edible — no shell, plate, or waste left behind when Alberto finishes it. When he stands up, still in the Cross chair he's occupied since 18:58, that's his first time out of it all night — the beat where the chair finally empties. No line or cue needed from anyone; just don't rush anyone out of frame in that moment.

Andy, kitchen assistant
19:24

Main video, “Bonaldo 90 years” hard cut

Hard cut to black the instant cup six is handed to Alberto — before applause can build. Already running at full volume: no fade, no title card, no line from anyone. Plays on the screen at 5.3 — right at the curtain, the last thing guests see before Khun In.

5.3 — curtain screen, before Khun In
Working reference: youtu.be/EIU3hcZLwP0. Full volume, no fade in, no title card. AV: confirm this is the final file before doors — if Andy sends an updated cut, swap it in here and nowhere else.

The instant this video ends, 4.1 and 4.2 open together — same two staff who opened them at the very start (Sally on 4.1, the other floor staff member on 4.2). They stay open from here straight through the reveal, dinner, and mingle. This is the same theatrical bookend as the opening: closed for the performance, open for everything that isn't.

Silence beat, Khun In moves

Sound cuts hard to nothing 2–3 seconds before the video's final note. In parallel, the Stage Manager gives Khun In his silent vibration cue — never spoken, never a clock time — and he moves quietly from the secret room to directly behind the round curtain, roughly 20–30 seconds.

THE REVEAL 5 minutes

The curtain opens slowly on the music cue. Khun In is a silhouette first, resolving into a lit figure. He's already playing as the curtain opens. The opera singer descends the spiral staircase, unaccompanied four bars, then trades phrases with him — a “battle” resolving into a duet, under three minutes, ending together on one held note.

Khun In, singer
19:33

To the table

A staff member already on duty elsewhere — never introduced, never positioned in sightline — says the only two logistics lines of the whole night: “Alberto, Leonardo — Sally has kept a table for you by the window. Andy is cooking.” Interior lighting dims near the glass so the food truck's flame reads through it. Sound in — Playlist 2 “Dinner/Mingle,” −18 dB, lifting to −15 dB as the first bowls land.

Staff, sound desk
19:35

Pad thai 22 minutes

Andy serves the six himself, in bowls. Staff pass takeout boxes to the rest of the room within five minutes — every standing guest gets one. Each box: plain kraft, one pha khao ma thread as the only mark, no logos, and a folded card with Sally's sentence, the date, and “OL Atelier.” That card is the only thing that goes home.

Andy, staff
19:57

Mingle 41 minutes — highest-risk window

Sally and Alberto circulate. From ~20:00, a few Thai/Southeast-Asian funk and molam edits enter the playlist. Every staff member on the floor is on duty for the no-selling rule here — this is the most relaxed part of the night and the easiest place for someone to improvise an answer about price or availability. Nobody does.

All floor staff
20:38

Sally's close ~60 words

Sound ducks to −30 dB, instant, on the Stage Manager's (Ploy) cue.

“Thank you. You saw a chef, a musician, and a voice that came down a staircase. Nothing tonight could be shipped — except the card in your box. Keep it.”

“Leonardo, Alberto — Padua and Bangkok, ninety years and one evening. Safe flight. Goodnight.”

Sally
20:39–20:58

Wind-down 19 minutes

Playlist 3 “Wind-down” — back to arrival tempo, one or two Italian vocal classics near the very end as a quiet exit for Alberto. Last track ends 20:58.

Sound desk
21:00

Hard stop

House up. Alberto out. Music is not the last thing in the room — the chair spot is. It is the last light off.
